Grey's Anatomy
I’m excited to have my show coming back on Sunday. It’s been a lonesome month without it (except I’ve had BtVS and AtS so not as much as I expected). I am hoping that I will get some of the things I want from it (eg: Denny’s death, Izzie realizing she’s being a psycho bitch, more Callie Torres, more stuff related to the Richard/Adele/Ellis/Thatcher saga) But really I will pretty much take whatever they give me. They have never failed me yet.

For all his Tuesday afternoon visits to his former mistress, formerly brilliant surgeon Ellis Grey, Dr. Richard Webber, Chief of Surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital, knew that he had a good thing in his wife Adele. Sometimes he wanted to tell Dr. Derek Shepherd that, despite all the nostalgia and love he had for Ellis, he was glad he hadn’t left his wife when he’d wanted to. If someone had told him something similar 20 years before, Richard would not have listened though, so he kept his mouth shut, and contrived to have Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd come to Seattle Grace.

Adele Webber heard a car in the drive on that rainy afternoon, and wondered who it could be. Richard didn’t think she knew that he spent his Tuesdays visiting Ellis Grey, but she did. She wished she could have been surprised to see Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, dripping in the rain. It was a shame about the Shepherd marriage; Adele knew only too well the troubles of a husband in love with a Grey woman. So she invited Addison in and served her tea until the impulse to run back to New York seemed to have passed. They were stronger than Thatcher.

Adele walked out of the building with calm measured steps, as if going to see the woman you’ve resented most of your adult life helpless and fading didn’t have meaning. She lied to herself, saying she was offering forgiveness and understanding and she wasn’t feeling in any way shape or form victorious and as if she’d conquered something. She told herself it was sad to see Ellis this way. She met Addison for tea and Addison didn’t say anything directly about the truth, but she knew it anyway. She squeezed her hand reassuringly and took another sip of her drink.
A Song of Ice and Fire
This means I again love Arya and want to smack Sansa rather than the other way around… although it’s hard to forget what is going to happen. Dany is still a victim and not more than slightly frightening. Jon has never changed his awesomeness, but he’s purer in this book than later on because he’s still a boy really. I am not as tolerant of Catelyn’s foibles in this section as I will be later… nearly screamed at her for her cruelty to Jon. Tyrion hasn’t shown how Lannister he can be yet. It’s strange… I know Bran is going to be pivotal, but we haven’t really gained any more insight into him in the later books than we get in those first few chapters. I feel like my feelings about Ned’s children are not what Martin intends me to feel sometimes. I think I am supposed to like Arya and Bran best along with Jon and I do love Jon but I don’t care much about Bran and I want to smack Arya. I imagine that the Bran issue will change when we actually see more or him and Arya will hopefully reform. Then I am supposed to be lukewarm about Sansa… I mean I am supposed to worry about her but not find her as awesome as the above mentioned siblings but she’s definitely more interesting and compelling to me. Rickon is the baby and no one can say much about him. Regardless, I trust Martin to eventually make us feel how he wants us to. Tatiana took the bag with my book in it though and now I have to search for it and hope she hasn’t destroyed it and grrr…I want it now
Serenity
I signed up for a rarepairs Jossverses ficathon today and it’s a good idea but honestly are any pairings rare in Firefly/Serenity verse (I mean other than ones that involve non-main cast members)? Regardless it should be interesting.
Arthurian Legend
In my head Arthur is always kind of a pansy. Like he holds his own in battle but he’s not a particularly great knight , he’s not particularly charming but he’s warm hearted and a bit of a puppy when it comes to love. He means well but it’s not like he’s a visionary… He’s the epicenter for greatness but he himself is not actually remarkable in my vision of things. Am I alone in this?
