Just like you, the more I think about it, the more I understand and think it might even be a good idea. But I still think season-long arcs are fantastic, although this season's is a major jumble because so many people are involved, and we don't even know for sure whether the bomb was meant for the limo or the bus.
I am still sort of hoping that Veronica will be preoccupied with Aaron Echolls over the course of the season, but everybody I've talked to think he's going to die in the finale, so.
Not to mention, I still live in this fantasy world where Aaron Echolls didn't kill Lilly Kane. :)
