As far as Lannisters, for me it's actually a tie between Tywin and Jaime, but I figure Jaime is going to get his share of votes without me, so I'm going with the patriarch :)
I think what we see of the Old Gods religion in present-day Westeros seems less crazy that the others, but I suspect that in their heyday that religion contained plenty of crazy, too. (I'm actually a bit surprised that there doesn't seem to be a 'radical' Old Gods person the way there is for R'hllor and the High Sparrow. Or perhaps there is one, and Bran will meet him/her/them at some point.
I have no TV things to recommend... the only thing I watch these days is House MD, and I figure if you had any interest in watching that you would have been doing so already, since Bones is the lead-in, so, no suggestions...
Oh, man, Lannisters! Awesome. I said Cersei because I am contrary and like watching people fall apart, but oh! Um, more needs to be said.
1) Cersei. Because no one else will, and because the portrait of her losing it in AFFC is AWESOME. Love the crazy. 2) Jaime! Oh, the torment and the agony. 3) Kevan. Because he's the one who gets things done without the glory or honor or golden shits. There always seemed something fundamentally decent and capable about him. 4) Tyrion. Not to say he is not awesome. But everyone knows he is. Though I fear he'll be somewhat depressingly resigned for awhile. 5) Tywin. I actually like him a lot, not as a person, but because I think he is an exceptionally well-written character. And in some ways, he reminds me of the strength I'd like to have. I love the way the world falls apart without him. There's one shattering when Robert goes, and without Tywin, what's left of calm and peace is gone. Effective and scary. 812) Lancel. He's, like, more pathetic than the Lannister cousin who ends up a bowl of stew.
And honestly, I always thought the Old Gods were pretty un-nuts as religions went. There wasn't the expectation that they'd necessarily grant prayers. There wasn't the glitz and corruption of the Seven or the brutality of the Dorthraki (though there is something poetic about their religion and the image of the rider across the stars). There certainly aren't the rotten promises of the Lord of Light. There's not much at all, which makes it kind of sane.

Also, you know how much I adore Addison and was looking forward to PrP, but IMHO, it is complete shit.

If really really cold.
