As far as Lannisters, for me it's actually a tie between Tywin and Jaime, but I figure Jaime is going to get his share of votes without me, so I'm going with the patriarch :)

I think what we see of the Old Gods religion in present-day Westeros seems less crazy that the others, but I suspect that in their heyday that religion contained plenty of crazy, too. (I'm actually a bit surprised that there doesn't seem to be a 'radical' Old Gods person the way there is for R'hllor and the High Sparrow. Or perhaps there is one, and Bran will meet him/her/them at some point.

I have no TV things to recommend... the only thing I watch these days is House MD, and I figure if you had any interest in watching that you would have been doing so already, since Bones is the lead-in, so, no suggestions...

I was trying to decide between Jaime and Tyrion and had similar logic. I find Tywin fascinating but not exactly a favorite.

Indeed. What we've seen of the Old Gods religion seems mostly just to be general spirituality with a sort of nature loving bent. Which is a lot less crazy that the other things we've seen but yes I am sure there were/are crazies there too.

Yeah, with House I find my dislike for the title character is sort of turn off for the show to me.
