Our Mrs. Reynolds Deleted Scene and Shipping

So during lunch today I re watched the deleted scene from "Our Mrs. Reynolds" because it is awesome and because the boyfriend had never watched any of the special features and it hit me that, although obviously it is mostly about Simon/River (which is why it is so awesome), if I were a Mal/River shipper that scene could totally be seen as evidence for the ship... what with River being so unhappy about Mal's being married.

It one of the best scenes ever, but yeah I was surprised it had never occurred to me before. Clearly my fandom goggles have become more refined when I start picking up ways to justify ships I don't even like from canon.

There's so much going on in that scene and it all is awesome.

I'm totally not a Mal/River shipper, but you're right about that scene though. It would definitely be evidence, if that's the way they would have went with the show. lmao. ;)
