Dilemma

So tomorrow I could go see my undergraduate institution put on Agamemnon but it would require:

1) 2 hours of driving (1 there and 1 back)

2) Leaving work an hour or more early so as to arrive there by 5.

3) Either going pretty much straight home afterwards (no chance for yummy Indian that dad pays for) or missing the Bones premiere/watching it late.

4) Either convincing my boyfriend to come with me to this event, or losing a number of hours of time with him.



On the other hand:

1) I don't really enjoy being at work that much so getting out early would be nice.

2) M and A do have a Tivo for occasions such as this (plus that would mean no commercials).

3) Possibly getting free and delicious food.

4) I did want to show boyfriend my pretty alma mater.

Tivos are wonderful things, free yummy food is great, and showing off your alma mater would be cool ^__^ And if the boy friends goes too the two hours of driving won't be too bad right? Because you would have someone to talk to

Yeah. Driving is still money because of gas being expensive and the freaking $4 bridge toll but it's better with someone to keep me company.

The worst part is that if I actually want to go into the city (San Francisco) I end up paying twice as much because I have to go over 2 overpriced bridges.

Any way to avoid them, or are the overpriced bridges the only way in?

You can add about half an hour in both directions and only take 1 even more overpriced than the others bridge. Also there is BART or the ferry but those are also costly (especially if you are not driving alone).

Yeah. Like 5 years ago the tolls were all $2 and when I was a kid I think they were $1 but they've been jacked up to ridiculous numbers over the last few years.

I was shocked when I was in Chicago and a "toll road" was like 35 cents instead of some high amount.

But then everything in California is expensive so I guess my perception has just sort of adjusted to the insanity.

Yeah here they average between 75 cents and 1.50 maybe 2 dollars

Yeah all our bridges are $4 except the Golden Gate which is $5.

We don't have any toll roads in Northern California, but they do have them in Southern California and I think they are expensive.

Well San Fransisco is at the tip of a peninsula so bridges play a big role in bay area travel.

Yeah, that makes sense. And we do have bridges, just not toll ones ^__^
