Last night, while watching Bones, I made 35 cupcakes, frosted them, and even put little sprinkles on top.
10 went to work with the boyfriend to remind his coworkers that he is taken (and they cannot hope to compete with a girlfriend who bakes cupcakes for him to bring his minions).
10 went to work with me to attempt to win my coworkers' love (so far 4 have been eaten, but it's only 11 so I have high hopes for them all being gone before I go home).
15 stayed at home for people to eat during our Office Season 4 Premiere Party (I also might make more with the second tub of frosting I bought just in case 1 wasn't enough).
While my sister was at therapy, J and I went shopping for snack foods and drinks (plus a few things we were out of). The results were such that I felt obliged to tell the checker that we were having people over and this wasn't how we normally shopped/ate. Our cart contents were as follows:
For the Party
12 Pack of Cans of Mountain Dew
12 Pack of Cans of Squirt
12 Pack of Cans of Pepsi
6 Pack of Hornsby's Crisp Apple Cider
6 Pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade
4 Pack of Bartles & James' Exotic Berry Wine Coolers
1 Bag of Lays Waves Ranch Potato Chips
1 Bag of Lays Baked Sour Cream and Onion Chips
1 Box of Reduced Fat Cheese-Its
1 Package of Chewy Chips Ahoy
1 Package of Generic Fudge Stripe Cookies
1 Package of Mother's Wafer Cookies
Not for the Party
1 Gallon of 2% Milk
4 Large Chunks of Beef
1 Loaf of Oroweat Potato Bread
ETA: It's about 1:30 and only two cupcakes remain. Both bitchy co workers have not eaten one so far... I think it's an instinctive aversion towards the classic Greek guest/host obligations enacted by one person eating food from another person.
ETA: 4 minutes to 2PM and the cupcakes I brought to work are gone. The last two were eaten by the Patriarch and my most problematic co-worker. Excellent.
