I'm starting to feel Torchwood love, now that it's just three weeks to the new season premiere. I'm going to re-watch the second half of the first season, actually...
And I'm starting to feel like having more icons...
Well, basically I'm happy with my huge number of icons, I'm just considering throwing out some Buffy icons for Torchwood icons... Which would be a huge step!
Seriously, I'm the only person born out-of-country to have responded so far? *blinks* I am totally unused to that kind of thing, as virtually all of my RL friends and about half of the people I work with or otherwise interact with are like that...
On the practical vs luxury gift question -- ideally it should be both, of course, something that's going to be useful but still too "frivolous" to buy for yourself (nifty gadgets, for example), but to pick between the two -- I would rather have a gift that was practical but not luxurious than a gift that was luxurious than not at all practical, 'cos the latter would most likely just go to waste. Thus my response.
I know I have a few other people on my flist who are. A lot of these people are from countries other than the US too.
Yeah both would be ideal. The reason I opted for luxury is because I will buy myself practical things but not impractical even though I often want them. So gifts are really the only way I get those things. Like J gave me this beautiful diamond and white gold necklace yesterday, I don't need it and would never have gotten it for myself, but I am glad he got it for me instead of something utilitarian.
(That said I am going to spend the money my mom's boyfriend gave me on practical things)
