Sometimes I forget, that conversations had in my living room with sophia_helix do not automatically translate into having posted about it. So this BSG speculation is a few weeks old.



Kara's dad, who taught her the magical cylon song, was Daniel, the gentle artist 13th Cylon who was killed by Cavil. She is the actual first half-breed. That's why she's different and special and knew the magic song and paints mandalas.

Clearly Hera inherited a certain amount of cylon knowledge, like the song, so that is consistent.

It doesn't really explain the fact that Leoben is all obsessed with her exactly; although, I'd hazard a theory that he was possibly totally in love with Daniel and she is reminiscent of him.

Also, if the future really is cylon/human mutts, that really does make her the end of (pure) humanity like the hybrids keep saying.

Yeah, that Kara's dad was Daniel is pretty much a given at this point. But I hadn't thought about that "end of humanity" interpretation! That's neat.

Yeah. It was written sky high, although the characters seem to not notice for whatever reason. But yeah, since the characters haven't figured it out I figure that is the conclusion of the "what is up with Kara" saga.

Also I am sort of hopeful that somehow Daniel wasn't utterly destroyed and he will show up for the finale.

Ha, yeah, he also denied that Kara wasn't dead. Although I suppose technically he was not lying. Sort of. Somehow.

In this case, he'll be all, "Wait, did I say Daniel was not Kara's father? No, what I said was he's not not Kara's father."

Ron D. Moore has denied pretty much everything ever put to him and it has never been even slightly relevant to the show because he has no plan so when he denies stuff, it's usually before whatever it is has even occurred to him. In this case I think he was quoted as saying they have "no connection" or something, which could be taken in all kinds of ways. But obviously I haven't heard it myself.
