lodessaI remember when they were still in school. Rachel always preferred to have me come and get her from the station, if she could possibly dissuade mother from doing it. He always watched her walk towards me. Mother noticed it, commented that that one wanted her. It was the end of her 3th year, his 6th. I smiled knowingly and wondered exactly how he kissed her, while Rachel answered mother's questions about her boyfriend Alex Andes. Safe back at home, we'd shut ourselves away in the bedroom and I'd cast silencing charms around us and get her to tell me all about it. Well, perhaps not everything but as much as her enthusiasm would prompt her to share. Somehow the situation excited me, although I wasn't sure why. I told her she shouldn't cheat on Alex, that cheating was bad and she should either stop or break up with him. I didn't really want her to stop though. Rachel was the perfect princess, maybe I was just happy to have her do something worse than me for once. Perhaps that was it. Sometimes I closed my eyes though and found myself imagining his dark ones gazing at me like they had my sister. I dismissed the thought. I was a full grown woman and didn't need to be longing for what was my kid sister's. Besidees, it wasn't like he was attractive. "Leah!" my mother called, statling me from my reverie, and I went down to try and pick up the slack that my father had left and was left with no more time to contemplate this yet.
