1) Which Disney heroine (or hero) do you most identify with? Not which is your favorite or what movie do you prefer, who do you actually see yourself in?
2) Sign Ups are still open at
asoiaf_equinox for another week. Please sign up so I don't feel like a loser... also because it will be fun I promise.
3) Wednesday night I read A Gathering of Gargoyles, the second book in Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel trilogy. Boyfriend should be bringing the last one home. In the mean time I am reading Closing Time some more. It still reads like amazing fanfic for Catch-22 written by someone who also loves Vonnegut and keeps flirting with the idea of a crossover.

Come up with the craziest theory you can think of for any of my fandoms (ridiculous crossover theories a bonus) I know about, and I will explain why it makes perfect sense and is in fact probably true.

Date: 2008-02-08 06:08 pm (UTC)Anyway, crazy theory: Temperance Brennan is actually from the planet Skyron, in the galaxy of Andromeda.
no subject
Date: 2008-02-08 06:15 pm (UTC)Well that Brennan is an alien is pretty obvious. Her overly analytic way of looking at the world is alien, her curiosity of cultural anthropology is that of an outsider trying to understand a discovered system, not to mention the weird circumstances of her family life make it really easy to believe that she is a changeling since it's not like foster parents were going to notice and by the time she reconnects with her family they can assume the change is because of time past and life experiences.

Date: 2008-02-08 07:29 pm (UTC)Crazy theory: Tywin Lannister's wife actually gave birth to triplets, not twins, and that third child is Lindsay Bluth.
no subject
Date: 2008-02-08 07:39 pm (UTC)Well to state the obvious: Lindsey looks like a Lannister, she thinks like a Lannister, and she'd be happier as a Lannister. Unfortunately triple births are considered unlucky in Westeros so she had to be secreted away because otherwise people would think there was a curse on the house. When Joanna became pregnant again, the draughts the maesters gave her to assure that she wouldn't repeat the shame caused Tyrion's defects because they stunted development and messed with the genes. They also messed with Joanna's immune system and led indirectly to her death. One day soon, Lindsey will return to Westeros, call out Cersei as an impostor, and take her place as Tywin's true daughter. She will have an incestuous relationship with Tyrion. But Dany will be okay with it because the Targaryens are into incest.

I had a thing for Belle and for Pocahontas and Mulan, I think... Although I don't think I did all that much identifying. I was more into identifying with book characters at the time, and I tended to be sympathetic of villains ;)

I think a lot of it has to do with the context you were exposed to them in.

Date: 2008-02-08 09:29 pm (UTC)I'm having a hard time picking between Wendy (Peter Pan) because I've always wanted to stay on safer territory, at the risk of not growing or challenging myself; Alice (Alice in Wonderland) because feel like I'm often throw into a world of confusing and arbitrary rules, and that behind it somewhere should be a world of possibility without punishment; and Violet (The Incredibles) because I am shy and doubt myself, and stay very introverted, but still possess abilities that would no doubt shine brighter if I were brave enough to use them.
I'd probably go with Alice in the end, but it's a pretty fair split between the group.

Date: 2008-02-08 10:38 pm (UTC)B.) Let's go with...Illyria was the one that destroyed Old Valyria (they even sort of rhyme.)
no subject
Date: 2008-02-08 10:45 pm (UTC)Illyria, missing her armies, searches through dimensions for a people worthy of her command. The Valaryians seem initially like a good fit, what with the dragons and the awesome swords, but they don't understand that only she is allowed to throw temper tantrums and she destroys them all because they are getting on her nerves in a fit of rage. The Targaryens, safe in Westeros, survive because she can't be bothered to hunt them down.
