Just to get one thing straight: Booth isn't going to die. The writers would never kill him off before he and Bones hook up at the very least. Still it makes for good drama and Bones shooting a crazy bitch in the throat. It caught me completely off guard (I knew Pam was going to do something freaky, but figured they'd save it for another episode because Bones often holds off like that) and was incredibly emotionally effective. I know Booth will be fine, but it's still moving to see Bones worry about him dying.

It also got me thinking about how many times people have been in life threatening situations, and I came to the conclusion that as far as I can think back, only Angela has never almost died. Which honestly, sort of works for me, after all she is the least connected to death.

That preview, totally makes me think that Sweets is going to end up being the Gormagon killer. His status as the new guy, his insecure yet arrogant intelligence. He'd actually make a great villain. That said, since I think that it probably will be a red herring.

More related to Sweets: I totally loved the battle between anthropology and psychology that was going on between Bones and Sweets, especially because it helps the lay viewer understand the differentiation that Bones makes between her anthropological knowledge and psychology, which she has disdain for. The difference between personal motivation and the motivation of a larger culture is an important distinction for Bones, it takes a lot of the responsibility and personal aspect out of it. It's safer, more scientific to her.

I really wanted Zack to point out, after everyone swooned over his singing, that he was totally KING OF THE LAB, or for Hodgins to admit it.

A few thing off my wishlist for next year (yes I know the season isn't over yet, but in one episode in which the Gormagon plotline and Booth's near fatal wound have to be dealt with there isn't going to be much time):

1) An actual plotline for Cam. I like Cam, despite my rabid shipper defensiveness, but unless they give her a personal story other than being in the OTP's way we are going to end up, as viewers, hating or being bored of her.

2) Bones dealing with her relationship with her dad, now that he's not a wanted fugitive or on trial for murder. She exposed a lot of care for him in "The Verdict in the Story" and will probably want to retreat back to a safe emotional distance, which he will test.

3) More Booth and Max Keenan, I really loved their interactions in season 2 and, if Max is going to be around to have issues with his daughter, there is plenty of room for Booth and him to see more of each other.

4) The Gravedigger. Mysteries left unsolved for a season or two, only to be picked back up, is something this show is good at.

5) Bones/Booth, always and forever.

Which of course means I picked back up a Doctor Who fic I started in January, which I am suspecting has been jossed, but seem to want to write without catching up on Who/watching Torchwood and seeing if minor tweaks are needed and might make it canon compliant.

Booth can't die. Not at this point. I would've never thought that Pam was going to shoot Bones - stalk Booth for a few episodes, maybe. (This is probably what would have happened if we the season hadn't been cut short.)

I wonder if Bones' shooting of Pam will have any legal consequences? They often do this sort of things (like when Bones tried to apply for a gun and couldn't, and when Booth shot the clown).

I actually thought that Sweets was going to turn out to be Gormagon back in October/November, but since then I've grown to like him and I'd rather he weren't. He's bringing really nice dynamics into the series - this psychology vs anthropology thing that you've been talking about. Also, he has such a crush on both Bones and Booth!

I second all of your wishes for the fourth season, especially #4 and #5 :D

I agree about what would have been vs what is with the cut season.

I almost put a section about Bones' shotting Pam having legal consequences in the post. Because they are really good about that. Being as they have so little time though, it might get pushed into next season.

He totally does! He wants to hang out with them and be best friends.

I really don't want Sweets to be the Gormogon (although I'm somewhat hopeful now) because he's so sweet and the dynamics he brings... ♥

Agree on all accounts on the wishlist.

And am not worried about Booth. Boreanaz - you can't kill him dead.

(Although he could move to LA and start a spinoff, by season 4.)

I do like Sweets, but there is sort of a problem developing because all the personal stuff Sweets is doing with Bones and Booth is totally inappropriate for him to be doing because of his role as their therapist. So if he's not the killer, they need to deal with that issue, sooner or later.

HAHAHAHAHA.

Bone is seriously the most consistently satisfying show on the air right now.
