So I mostly liked this episode. I liked Booth getting all testy over first one and then both of Brennan's boytoys, and I loved Cam and Angela and Bones mocking men and their insecurities. The plot was entertaining enough, and I was happy in the end they went somewhere with the annoying grad student, who was indeed perfect for Sweets.
However, once again the show in the end affirms Booth's monogamous, by the book, missionary style, perspective over Brennan's more open minded and exploratory one when it comes to sex/relationships. Both characters' perspectives are in character and Bones making mistakes socially is also like that, but there were other ways they could have looked at it. Honesty and being up front with people would make a much better lesson learned and it's something they both could have learned. Bones could have learned that the problem with her setup was that she was not up-front with these men and therefore they had different expectations than she did, and Booth could have been forced to consider that openly discussing wants and desires and interest in other people and things would be far better than lying and cheating and betrayal and ending up dead. But instead the show, and Bones, validate Booth's ideal of monogamy.
But even through my annoyance at that, I did squee at that final conversation and Booth being like "you are far too awesome for these guys" and the somebody for everybody and them wanting to go on their own date without Sweets. Oh Booth and Bones, he means you and him even though he doesn't realize it. Please to be knocking boots by Christmas, or at least going at it with the out makings.
