So it's been over 100 F this last week. 106 yesterday I believe. And this morning I wake up to my alarm and I realize I haven't had my sleep disturbed (usually both the heat and the light make it a battle to get any sleep after 5 or 6). I think wow... I must have been really tired. Then I go to open the windows and notice it's all grey and coolish outside and am like...huh? I walk out to my car and... it's fucking raining. Not like heavily but definitely it's happening. Fucking wierd California. I know in other parts of the country summer rainstorms are the norm... but here they happen maybe once every few years.

ETA: Now it's sunny and back to like 80-85 F.

lol. Actually it's pretty dry here so that's not really an issue for us. It's just plain old hot.

ours is just dry heat that burns your skin when there's a wind because instead of making it better the wind makes it worse it's that hot.

i would rather be cold cause it requires snuggling to get warm. But I grew up in Minnesota, I love the cold! LoL

See I was born and raised here. I've grown more tolerant of the cold but what i really hate is the grey and the dark

Same thing happened to us earlier this week. It was well in the 90s (not as hot as you guys, but still hot) and then it rained. Yesterday was in the low 80s somewhere.

Stupid weather.

Not that I don't enjoy the break but it's just WEIRD.

My flist has been reporting storms and power outages.

Huh. When England has similar weather to California (as in the heat), that's a little worrying. Heheh.

Apparently Ireland was warmer than New Mexico last week.

Further proof that the apocalypse is coming.

And now it's after ten and cloudy and gray again! But hey, I'm not complaining. They just cut back all the trees in the complex, so we're getting ten times as much sun and heat. The last few days haven't been fun.

Yeah. I have so NOT been appreciating my upstairs apartment lately... which somehow manages to get way too much heat in even though it's north facing. And to think we have another 3 months or so of it.

Mmhmm, I live in south FL so I feel you pain. But, similar to Texas, we have very wet heat. And it rains every single afternoon. I'd be ok if it was the nice kind of rain- where it gets nice and cool- but, nooo, it raises the temp. about 10 degrees right before it rains every afternoon.

We got up to 102 a few days ago :/

Yeah. Mostly I am hiding in the nice air conditioning at work.... which is actually a little too cold.
